Obituary for Ruth Johns
Ms. Ruth Johns was born and raised in Hamlet, NC. She was affectionately called Ma, Aunt Ruth, Ruthie, and Steve. In the early hours of the morning on Wednesday, January 25, 2022, she earned her angel wings for her heavenly life to be with the lord at her home in Philadelphia, PA.
Ruth attended East Hamlet school.
Ruth was baptized at an early age where she was a member of her childhood church Bass Temple. She later moved to Philadelphia, P.A. where she served as an active church member.
Ruth spent well over 30 years employed by the Rubin Family where she was more than an employee. She was family.
Ruth enjoyed singing on the choir, spending time with family and being one of God’s servants as best she could.
Ruth was proceeded in death by her parents Molly and Samuel Savannah, One son, Harold Savannah, Five brothers, Mitchell Savannah, Joe Savannah, John Savannah, Pete Savannah, Richard (Cut)Savannah and Three sisters Caribell Savannah, Margorie Lee Wimms, and Lucy Mae Pate.
She leaves to cherish her memories one son, David Lee Savannah (Tracy Stroman) four grandchildren Shabari Savannah of North Dakota, Jamall Savannah & Katie Savannah of Kings, North Carolina, David Savannah Jr. of Hamlet NC and Nato Savannah of Fayetteville NC; nine Great grandchildren. one sister, Rhoda Hines of Hamlet, NC, one brother Samuel Savannah Jr. of Cincinnati, OH, one special Friend Jenny Robinson of Philadelphia, PA. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
